Technical Specifications
A SMILE-G3-S system decides when to charge and discharge from what its grid CT sees. This split-core CT clamps around the live conductor of the house supply, with the arrow pointing toward the inverter's grid port, and reports the current and its direction to the inverter. Without it, the system cannot follow the household load or keep export at zero. It is the same part AlphaESS ships with the inverter, supplied here with a 10 m lead for installations where the meter point is far from the battery.
